I can’t say that Christian camping has ever felt like my calling the way it has for my husband, John. But what I do know—without a doubt—is that my purpose in life is to tell others about Jesus.

When we first heard from James Miller about the opportunity at Bonita Park, I didn’t even finish reading the email before I knew in my spirit: God was sending us there. That was our first experience in camp ministry, and I’ll never forget what the Lord whispered to my heart in that moment—“It’s not about you.”

That simple truth has carried me through every season since. When God calls, we obey. And when we obey, He equips us—not always for what we expect, but for what He intends to do through us. For me, that is camp ministry. I’ve seen firsthand how God uses it to change lives—including my own.

Today, I serve alongside John as Assistant Executive Director, overseeing guest services, staff hospitality, and daily operations. Whether it’s planning events, mentoring staff, or simply offering a word of encouragement, my heart is to make sure every person who steps foot here at Camp Maranatha feels welcomed and drawn closer to Jesus.
