Required Minimum Distribution
Use Your RMD to Support the Camp.
A Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is the minimum amount you must withdraw each year from certain retirement accounts once you reach a specific age. If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift to Camp Maranatha through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. This gift can count toward your RMD and may reduce your taxable income. You can give up to $100,000 each year directly from your IRA to support staff, capital projects, or the area of greatest need. You may also choose to make your gift in honor or memory of a loved one. Talk with your tax advisor to see if a QCD is right for you and make a lasting impact at Camp Maranatha.

ADOPT A PROJECT
Bring a Project to Life
Camp Maranatha is more than a place. It serves as a launching point for worship, fellowship, spiritual growth, recreation, and transformation, all to the Glory of God. Through our Adopt a Project initiative, we invite individuals, families, churches, and businesses to prayerfully fund specific upgrades ranging from $600 to $300,000.
These projects enhance our year-round facilities for guests of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Your gift becomes part of Camp Maranatha’s lasting legacy, creating meaningful experiences and advancing the mission for generations to come.
Current Projects under construction
We are committed to a long-term vision that aims to replace our older cabins with modern, guest-ready facilities that foster fellowship, recreation, and Christ-centered hospitality. Thanks to the generous support of donors and the dedicated efforts of volunteers, we are in the process of building two new cabins, continuing this renewal effort to benefit future generations.
Replace Cabin 1 – $25,000 Remaining
Cabin 1 is well underway, with the foundation set and basement prep for flooring in progress. Your gift will help complete the walls, roofing, insulation, and furnishings. A recent generous donation of $15,000 leaves just $25,000 until the cabin is fully funded.
Replace Cabin 3 with a Two-Story Cabin – FULLY FUNDED!!!
A memorial cabin is being built at Camp Maranatha in loving memory of Dennis Linnell Sr. (1937–2024), a devoted member of the Alaska District Church of the Nazarene. Dennis faithfully supported Camp Maranatha from its early days. This fully funded cabin will honor his legacy by providing a space for fellowship, recreation, and Christ-centered hospitality.

Commercial Dishwasher Replacement – $6,500
A new dishwasher will improve kitchen efficiency and sanitation for large-group events.

Upgrade the snack shack with a high-quality commercial coffee machine to enhance hospitality and generate additional revenue.

A critical safety upgrade to protect guests and buildings with a fire suppression system and large-capacity water storage.

Create a peaceful nature trail with scripture markers and prayer points for quiet time with the Lord.

Renovate Cabin 7 into a wheelchair-accessible space for guests with mobility challenges.

Structural repairs, new paint, and added features will make this well-loved course even better.

Add an elevator to ensure ADA-compliant access to the hotel’s second floor.

Expand the deck to provide easier wheelchair-accessible entry into the dining hall.

Convert cabins from propane to natural gas for improved efficiency and sustainability.
